NATURAL STONE VENEERS INTERNATIONAL

Stone Veterans Open New Company, New Technology in Industry
Natural Stone Veneers International, a natural stone fabrication company, is another stepping stone in the life of the family that has brought this venture to one of Fond du Lac's business parks. Natural Stone Veneers International, an LLC of Natural Stone Veneers, is corporated and owned by Renee Buechel and developed with her husband Dennis and their sons, Joe, Jason, and Jesse. The family brings over 130 years of combined experience in every aspect of the stone industry: from quarrying natural stone to developing machinery for creating various textures on the stone and blends, to marketing building and landscape stone through a nationwide dealer network and locally, to branding a whole new stone, natural thin veneer, in the stone industry.
Their new company, Natural Stone Veneers International (NSVI), fabricates natural thin veneer stone for interior and exterior building applications. Dennis Buechel has developed equipment that allows the stone to be cut to approximately 1 inch to a 1-1/2 inch thickness. The machinery he has developed is patented. While doing market research for his industry, Dennis came to realize that the weight of the stone could be a hindrance for masons and the large veneer stone was not necessary to keep a building structurally sound. After developing the thin veneer concept further, it was realized that the thin veneer displays all the advantages of full veneer, but makes the application process easier and quicker.
In its infancy, NSVI had been fabricating twenty different types of stone, quarried nationally and internationally. Jesse Buchel has traveled throughout the United States and most recently, to other countries researching quarries and using his geology background to bring the finest stones to the building marketplace.
NSVI also brings the thin veneer stone to market in a package that makes transporting of the stone more efficient. Through a great amount of research, Joe Buechel has helped NSVI create a plastic corrugated box that can stand up to the outdoor elements and transport even better. For larger orders, he has developed a crate to make shipping of the stone more convenient. The stone concept and varieties along with the packaging have made it possible to create a national Master Distributor program for distributing the products. Joe and Jason Buechel have been instrumental in putting together the Master Distributor network to market and advertise their line of products.

Natural Stone Veneer International has over 50 different stone veneers to choose from.

The Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation gave NSVI a boost when it worked with the company to finance state and city loans for increased equipment and training programs. Dennis, Joe, and Renee Buechel worked diligently with FCEDC to secure the loan applications. Dennis was recognized by Governor Doyle for his vision to take advantage of these loans, in particular the employee training program loans designed by the state of Wisconsin.
In April 2003, Dennis was recognized by the Home Builder's Association of Fond du Lac and Dodge Counties with their Cornerstone Award. This award is given to an individual who has supported the Association in all aspects for a tenure number of years. This award is given to those who also do many hours for the association and need not have to be asked that they come forward and volunteer.
In less than three years, NSVI is quickly emerging as the leader in the stone industry with its diverse natural thin veneer stone products, fabrication process, packaging, distribution, and marketing. Natural Stone Veneer International's marketplace is truly global. |
